Wawata House

Wawata House is architect Julian Guthrie's own family home on Waiheke Island, designed to maximise views while maintaining a strong connection to its natural surroundings.

Ambitec was engaged to install polished plaster finishes throughout the upper-level entrance, bedrooms and bathroom. Working closely with Julian, we refined the colour selection to ensure it complemented the home's palette of concrete, timber and stone.

The polished plaster adds subtle texture and depth to these spaces, creating a clean, cohesive finish that changes with the natural light throughout the day. Its seamless appearance and durability made it an ideal choice for the project, contributing to the calm and understated feel of the interiors.

The result is a carefully considered finish that sits comfortably within the architecture while enhancing the overall material palette of the home.
