Kanuka House

Designed by Wire Dog Architecture and winner of two ADNZ Regional Awards, this home is nestled amongst a valley filled with kānuka trees.

Massive rammed earth walls bind the home to its landscape, while contrasting internal textures of timber panelling and Ambitec Suave polished plaster create a soft, cosy living environment.

Suave in Misty White is used throughout, creating continuity across a material palette that moves from the earthy hues of bamboo, cedar and strand board to the texture of the rammed earth walls. In the ensuite, the finish continues the conversation with stone tile flooring and copper fittings.

Together, these materials create an interior that feels grounded in its setting, with polished plaster providing a soft, tactile surface that connects the different elements of the home.
