Ambitec at Aotearoa Art Fair 2026
Ambitec collaborated with William Austin Gallery and Kurutai Collective at the 2026 Aotearoa Art Fair, delivering bespoke polished plaster finishes as custom wall panels, and rendered plinths for two distinct exhibition spaces.
This collaboration demonstrates the application of premium surface finishes within a contemporary art environment, where texture, materiality, and architectural finishes can play a key role in shaping how artworks are experienced.

Ambitec collaborated with William Austin Gallery to create a series of custom wall panels for their Aotearoa Art Fair presentation.
Finished in Suave Tilt Slab Dark Double, the panels were developed to achieve a refined, concrete-inspired surface with a soft, textured quality.
The polished plaster finish provided a subtle yet material backdrop, adding depth and presence without competing with the artworks on display.
The result was a considered, architectural environment that supported an intergenerational presentation of contemporary painting, balancing visual restraint with material richness.

Ambitec worked alongside Kurutai Collective to design and produce custom plinths for their Aotearoa Art Fair installation, finished in Suave to colour match Aalto Punga.
Each plinth was fabricated and coated to complement the uku (clay) works, with the polished plaster finish developed to sit in harmony with the material language of the pieces. The surfaces were designed to feel natural and grounded, supporting the curatorial intent of creating a space of convergence and flow.
Through this collaborative approach, the plinths became an integral part of the installation, reinforcing the relationship between materiality, form, and the artworks themselves.
